  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, and interaction patterns.
  • Device information: browser type, operating system, and screen resolution.
  • IP address: used for security and approximate geographic location for regional pricing.

How We Use Your Information

  • To analyze your property photos and generate market pricing reports.
  • To process payments and deliver purchased reports.
  • To send transactional emails (report delivery, payment confirmations, password resets).
  • To improve our service and analysis accuracy.
  • To respond to support requests.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Stripe: for payment processing.
  • Anthropic: your photos and property descriptions are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI for analysis. Anthropic's data policies apply to this processing.
  • Email providers: for delivering transactional emails.
  • Law enforcement: if required by law, subpoena, or court order.

Data Retention

  • Account data: retained while your account is active. You may request deletion at any time.
  • Property photos: retained for 90 days after report generation, then automatically deleted.
  • Reports: retained for as long as your account is active.
  • Payment records: retained as required for tax and legal compliance.

Your Rights

You may:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal information by contacting us.
  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
  • Opt out of non-essential communications.
  • Delete your account and associated data.

Where Your Data Is Stored

Your data is stored on servers located in the United States, operated by our hosting provider (Heroku/AWS). Photos are stored using encrypted cloud storage (Amazon S3). If you are accessing ClaimOwl from outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted storage, and secure authentication. Passwords are stored using bcrypt hashing and are never stored in plain text. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. These cookies expire when you close your browser or after your session ends. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. Our site does not respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, as we do not engage in cross-site tracking.

Account Deletion

When you request account deletion:

  • Your account and profile data are deleted within 30 days.
  • Property photos are deleted within 30 days.
  • Generated reports are deleted within 30 days.
  • Payment records are retained as required by law (typically 7 years for tax purposes).
  • Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for service improvement.

California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides you with additional rights:

  • Right to know: you may request a list of the personal information we have collected about you and how it has been used and shared.
  • Right to delete: you may request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to opt out: we do not sell personal information. If this changes, we will provide an opt-out mechanism.
  • Non-discrimination: we will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
